If All Christians Refused War…

If all Christians refused to serve the powers of the world, which are not Christian, there would be less war.

If all Christians refused to provide funds to governments at war, and their supporting NGOs, there would be less war.

If all Christians refused to accept that violence solves problems, there would be less war.

If all Christians refused to participate in the armed forces of their country, there would be less war.

If all Christians rejected the authority of those who advocate for war, there would be less war.

If all Christians rejected the notion of a Just War, there would be less war.

If all Christians spoke out against all wars, there would be less war.

If all Christians judged according to God’s standards, there would be less war.

If all Christians lived as Jesus said we are to live, there would be less war.

If all Christians saw all others as children of God, there would be less war.

If all Christians saw Jesus in everyone else, there would be less war.

If all Christians were devoted to being peacemakers, there would be less war.

If all Christians understood that governments are primarily concerned with their own institutional well-being, there would be less war.

If all Christians understood that war is usually very profitable to the businesses involved, there would be less war.

If all Christians were content to live with the limited resources available to them, there would be less war.

If all Christians lived more for God and less for themselves, there would be less war.

If all Christians understood that we are to live for God no matter what political/economic system we live under, there would be less war.

If all Christians understood that their real power is in saying ‘yes, yes’ or ‘no, no’, rather than in killing, there would be less war.

If all Christians understood that killing by government directive and killing by personal directive are the same thing, there would be less war.

If all Christians learned to creatively defend themselves against physical violence, there would be less war.

If all Christians learned to creatively defend themselves against mental violence, there would be less war.

If all Christians learned to creatively defend themselves against spiritual violence, there would be less war.

If all Christians were truly willing to die for God’s plans and purposes, there would be less war.

If all Christians understood that all war is the result of failure, there would be less war.

As long as we don’t live according to the teachings of Jesus, there will be war.

Peace be with you.

Steve.
